Jim Faulknor first became a licensed and bonded California car dealer in San Francisco in the 1970’s as a teenager with his father’s business Forrest Faulknor Enterprises. His father opened up an auction house in South San Francisco in the 1980’s (Forrest Faulknor and sons Auction company) that specialized in the liquidation of selling automobiles. Jim Faulknor became a licensed and bonded Auctioneer and Appraiser in the early 1980’s, graduating from the Mendenhall School of Auctioneering in High Point North Carolina. Jim and his wife Robin moved from San Francisco to Petaluma to raise their 2 boys and open Action Auction together in July 2011.
